Vitamin C


Dogs can produce their own. Additional Vitamin C helps with protection against viruses and decreases stress. It is a water-soluble antioxidant. Older dogs produce less of their own.

Vitamin E

Added to pet foods to prevent rancidity. Neutralises free radicals and is therefore a fat-soluble antioxidant. Adding fish oils to food increases the need for Vitamin E, as it is used up of neutralising the added free radicals in the food, Also helps fight muscle wastage, eye problems and generally helps boost the immune system.

Calcium and Phosphorus

Essential for healthy bones, teeth and coat. Can work to prevent bone diseases later in life by aiding optimum bone growth.

Sodium Chloride

Essential for fluid homeostasis (balancing the fluids inside the individual cells and outside of them.)
